Experienced Meteorological-Oceanographic Forecasting Services to ensure Safe and Efficient Operations.
Ports, Harbours and Offshore Oil & Gas operations are all subject to impacts from meteorological and oceanographic conditions on a day-to-day basis. Winds, seas, swells, currents and severe weather can all put operations and safety at risk, so having the best met-ocean information and tools from MetraWeather can ensure profitable and safe outcomes.
MetraWeather has more than a decade of experience in providing the best available met-ocean information and tools to marine clients. MetraWeather supports marine clients across the globe, with input from its specialist MetOcean Solutions team and trusted partners at OMC International.
Wind, Wave and Current Modelling
MetOcean Solutions is a dedicated business unit of MetService, with decades of experience in advanced ocean modelling. This includes wind, waves, currents, sea level and more. A team of PhD scientists run high resolution models for your area of interest and calibrate the resulting forecasts against observations to maximise accuracy. The forecasting services developed by MetOcean Solutions are used by MetraWeather’s clients across the globe to ensure that operations run smoothly and safely.
Lightning Alerting and Squall Warnings
MetraWeather is the exclusive reseller of lightning information from the global Tempest Lightning Network in Australia and Southeast Asia. Real time lightning information, and associated proximity alerts, can keep people safe, whilst limiting unnecessary downtime through accurate All Clear messages. Lightning is also a proxy for incoming severe weather, including damaging wind squalls. MetraWeather also offers a dedicated wind squall forecasting service for offshore oil & gas operations, and other sensitive marine operations.
PortWeather and Insights Platform
MetraWeather provides its marine clients with user-friendly and secure web based portals for viewing important real time met-ocean information and forecasts for operational, safety and environmental decisions. PortWeather was developed in conjunction with OMC International and supplies all information that a port needs via the one interface. It is used by some of the largest ports in Australia and New Zealand. For offshore oil & gas clients, MetraWeather Insights Platform provides observations, forecasts and map-based interfaces to track threats to your operations and production.
