MetConnect is a secure and fully customisable web based platform used to view the latest weather information, including energy-specific forecasts at 14-day, 4-Week and 6-month lead times. Renewable forecast modules, including catchment and runoff forecasts for hydro generation are also included.
Real time weather observations are also viewable, as are radar, satellite and lightning overlays on a map based animator, StrikeCast. StrikeCast also includes a nowcast of lightning, highlighting areas where lightning is likely to occur within the next 60 minutes.
